About the Role:

We are seeking a mid-level Aeronautical Engineer to join our Drone Division at Modirum Gespi in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

In this role, you will be part of a team focused on developing new products and expected to provide high-quality technical solutions that meet international standards. You will collaborate with both local and international colleagues and partners in a multidisciplinary environment.

This position will involve performing engineering analyses in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and performance. You should be proficient in using key aerodynamic design tools, capable of conducting aircraft performance and flight mechanics simulations, and have the skills to improve calculation methods and aerodynamic designs.

You will serve as the focal point for enhancing the aerodynamic design of existing aircraft and will also support flight test campaigns.

You’ll be an active team member, frequently interacting with colleagues from other aircraft disciplines, including flight control, structures, systems, and more

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze aircraft mission requirements and develop detailed product specifications.
  • Conduct parametric studies, conceptual design studies, and technical benchmarking.
  • Analyze and optimize the lift, drag, stability, and control characteristics of aircraft to ensure high performance.
  • Work on optimizing aerodynamic designs to improve efficiency with proven techniques.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including platform design and systems, to integrate aerodynamic and flight mechanics considerations into the overall aircraft design.
  • Propose tests and simulations for design improvement and validation. Participate in flight testing campaigns
  • Be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with both local and international partners, as well as multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications (must have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and performance analysis within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft design principles and methods, including aircraft performance modelling and analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with aerodynamic and performance simulation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical findings and results clearly.
  • Fluent in English (for international collaboration).

Desirable Skills (nice to have):

  • At least 5 years of experience with aerodynamic design, aircraft performance, and flight mechanics.
  • Programming skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the drone industry.
  • Familiarity with prototyping
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in the aerospace or drone sectors (e.g., AI, machine learning, autonomous systems)

About the Role:

In this role, you will be part of a team focused on developing new products and will be expected to deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet international standards. You will collaborate with both local and international colleagues and partners in a multidisciplinary environment.

This position will involve designing aircraft structures. The ideal candidate should have experience with key structural design methods, calculation procedures, and possess a strong understanding of aircraft materials.

You must be able to independently conduct load analysis, stress calculation, fatigue and vibration analysis, material selection, and be proficient in documentation writing and prototyping.

You will be the focal point for improving the structural design of existing aircraft and propose modifications. 

You will also support flight test campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze aircraft mission requirements and develop detailed product specifications.
  • Design the structures of small aircraft and drones, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations across various operational environments.
  • Propose and conduct tests and simulations for design improvement and validation; participate in flight test campaigns.
  • Propose and implement test rigs and computational simulations for aircraft structural design validation and verification.
  • Perform material selection and compatibility analysis in relation to mission and performance requirements.
  • Serve as the focal point for aeronautical structural engineering.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and other engineering teams.
  • Conduct studies and implement aircraft structural engineering modifications for existent aircraft.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with both local and international partners, as well as multidisciplinary teams.
  • Identify and mitigate engineering risks associated with aircraft structural integrity and design.
 

Qualifications (must have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of aeronautical structural design, including loads, weight and balance, flight envelopes (V-n), finite element analysis, stress, fatigue, and vibration.
  • Experience in analyzing and selecting materials for aeronautical applications in small aircraft and drones, including composites, metals, plastics, and other materials.
  • Understanding of airframe configuration optimization, load analysis, stress analysis, material properties, manufacturing processes, tooling concepts, and structural in-service requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical findings and results clearly.
  • Fluent in English (for international collaboration).
 

Desirable Skills (nice to have):

  • At least 5 years of experience in aircraft/drone structural design and materials selection.
  • Advanced proficiency in calculation tools (e.g., MS Excel) and familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python).

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of both new and existing mechanical and propulsion systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products.

You’ll be expected to deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet international standards. You’ll collaborate with both local and international colleagues and partners in a multidisciplinary environment.

This position will involve designing advanced aircraft mechanical systems and integrating sophisticated propulsion systems, including conventional, hybrid, and electric configurations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical design methods, calculation procedures, and a deep understanding of noise, vibration, and thermodynamics in aerospace systems. Must be familiar with electrical propulsion systems and flight control systems (mechanisms).

You will be the focal point for the mechanical physics (mechanisms, noise, vibration, thermodynamics) and propulsion integration (conventional, hybrid or electric).

You will also support flight test campaigns.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze aircraft mission requirements and develop detailed product specifications.
  • Design and optimize mechanical systems ensuring compliance with national and international regulations across various operational environments.
  • Propose and conduct tests (both physical and simulated) for design validation; participate in ground and flight test campaigns.
  • Lead the design and integration of propulsion systems, including engines, turbines, motors, and related components.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for aircraft propulsion systems and mechanical physics (e.g., mechanisms, noise, vibration, thermodynamics).
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and propulsion systems
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with both local and international partners, as well as multidisciplinary teams.
  • Document design processes, test results, and analysis findings, and contribute to engineering reports and technical papers
 

Qualifications (must have):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical physics, including thermodynamics, noise, vibration, solid and fluid dynamics, and mechanical systems integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to present technical findings and results clearly.
  • Fluent in English (for international collaboration).
 

Desirable Skills (nice to have):

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or propulsion systems design, analysis, and integration for aerospace applications (aircraft, drones, or related fields).

In this role, you will be an integral part of a team focused on designing and developing mechanical systems and aircraft structures. You will be expected to deliver high-quality CAD solutions, ensuring that all designs meet international standards. 

This position involves creating detailed drawings and 3D models, collaborating closely with engineers and cross-functional teams, and addressing production challenges. 

The ideal candidate should have experience in CAD software, a strong understanding of mechanical and aerospace design principles, and the ability to work independently to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, aircraft structures, aerodynamic lofting, manufacturing processes, and other related tasks.
  • Produce 3D models and accurate drawings using CAD software.
  • Input material parameters into CAD software to optimize designs and calculate component weight.
  • Read, interpret, and adjust CAD drawings from third-party vendors or partners, ensuring compatibility with integrated systems.
  • Create schematic, orthographic, and angular views to depict functional relationships between components (mechanical or electrical), assemblies, systems, and mechanisms.
  • Modify and revise designs to address design changes or production challenges. Assess factors impacting component designs and manufacturing procedures.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and data to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members.
  • Provide technical support and expertise as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications (must have):

  • Experience with 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) and advanced CAD tools.
  • Intermediate proficient in CAD software and engineering drawing principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot design and production issues.
  • Ability to adapt designs based on feedback from engineers and production teams.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
 

Desirable Skills (nice to have):

  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician, with a strong portfolio of work involving mechanical design, aircraft structures, or similar fields.
  • Relevant certifications in CAD software or design technologies are a plus
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
