On Thursday (21) in Brasilia, Ocellott, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), the Ministry of Defense and the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep) signed a partnership to contract a grant for a development project.
In an innovative partnership, Ocellott and the Brazilian Military Material Industry (IMBEL) will begin the project “Beyond-the-Horizon Communications Systems Employing Software-Defined Tactical Equipment” . The aim of the project is to develop an innovative, fully national, robust and redundant over-the-horizon communications system based on IMBEL’s TRC-1222 Rondon software-defined tactical equipment technology.
In addition to Ocellott and IMBEL, the ceremony celebrated the contracting of another 21 innovation projects by 24 Brazilian companies that also work in the defense sector. In total, the projects add up to R$238 million in investments from the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT) to foster innovation in the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base .
The signing of this contract is a source of great honor for Ocellott, as it encourages the development of communications in the service of Brazil’s defense, and is important for the entire Brazilian Defense Industrial Base in promoting national technological progress and autonomy.
